The Tubs were formed by two of the primary songwriters from the pop group Joanna Gruesome- Owen 'O' Williams & George 'GN' Nicholls- with the view of expanding the dimensions of their 'jubilant' (New York Times), 'hook stuffed' (Pitchfork) compositions.
The ‘Tubullar Sound’s breadth is wide, absorbing influences that range from the Flying Nun jangle of The Goon Sax & Twerps, to needling Post Punk, to traditional British Folk music.
“Silver Moon” is the band’s first recording and makes a lunar case for the absolute abolishment of sunshine, lightness, and the entire concept of the earth’s ‘daytime’. Over the course of two minutes, flute organs, vocal harmonies and jangling guitars meet something more alarming.
